China Southern has dropped the price of a few of their flights in late March, April, May, and September, October 2019 from Toronto to the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bali / Indonesia, down to between $556 and $612 roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Guangzhou, China.
China Southern is actually a pretty good airline (4 star Skytrax rating). I often see people confuse China Southern with China Eastern, a lower quality airline.
You can also fly into one country, and then home from a different country, and keep the price the about the same (see instructions below).

NOTE: In late September, a lot of places in SE Asia have bad weather (rainy, monsoons, etc). Bali (Denpasar) in Indonesia is an exception.
September is a transitional month for Bali, moving from dry to wet season, it's still a nice time to visit, with the occasional shower at night.

The flight between the two cities in SE Asia is not included.
