Arajet has dropped the price of their flights from Toronto (YYZ) to San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) down to $208 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic each way.
Arajet charges $65 CAD roundtrip for checked bags and $105 CAD roundtrip for carry-on.
These may sell out pretty quickly, but Arajet updates their prices pretty frequently, and I will keep this blog post updated with available dates.
You can also find similar prices to Guatemala and El Salvador.

I’m seeing 1 stop flights and those prices are for smart package, not comfort with checked bag.
You select Smart Package (no bag) and then add the bag separately on the next step. These days most airlines try to upsell you their 'bundles' first before getting to the luggage page.
