United looks to be having a large unadvertised fare drop to Phoenix. Their prices have dropped to less than 50% of their closest competitor.
It looks to have affected most dates all the way up to August 2013! As with all unadvertised fare drops, it's impossible to say how long they will last. I usually work under the assumption that they'll be back up in less than 24 hours. Sometimes they surprise me and last longer. Sometimes they only last a few hours. The point is, it's impossible to say for sure.
One thing to note is that United lets you hold a fare for up to 72 hours without completing your purchase. You can reserve your ticket, and then complete your purchase later while you think about it. Details about United's 'FareLock' can be found here.

My thoughts:
If you ever get the chance to visit Arizona, be sure to try and get a permit ahead of time to visit The Wave (most amazing rock formation you'll ever see). The slot canyons are also awesome and a photographer's dream. The pic at the top of this post is of Horseshoe Bend, another incredible sight. Oh and there's that little place called the Grand Canyon you may have heard of.
