Avianca has dropped the price of their flights from Toronto to Guayaquil, Ecuador down to $320 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
Actually, that's not quite true. Avianca doesn't include any carry-on luggage in their base fares which allows their prices to appear significantly cheaper than they really are in major search engines. You'll often find bottom-feeders conveniently overlooking this fact.
You need to add around $120 CAD roundtrip to their prices for a more realistic comparison against other airlines.
For a true comparison against other airlines, Avianca's flights to Guayaquil have dropped down to $440 CAD roundtrip.
The flights have one stop in El Salvador each way.
For most visitors, Guayaquil is the gateway city to the Galapagos Islands. A flight from Guayaquil to the Galapagos Islands is around 90 minutes.
Guayaquil itself isn't really considered a 'must visit' when visiting Ecuador.

1. Start with the following Google Flights search:
Google Flights: Toronto to Guayaquil, Ecuador
- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations.
- Adjust the trip length at the bottom.
- Look for the cheapest dates ($320 roundtrip).
2. Click through to the Avianca website. The price will be in $USD. You need to select the 'Basic Fare' level and then ignore the usual attempts to sell you a bundle.
And then add your luggage separately in the following steps.
The price should be: $232 USD for the roundtrip flight and $87 USD for roundtrip carry-on.
$232 USD + $87 USD = $440 CAD roundtrip for flight + carry-on.
